The gift of Friendship is special and so important in our emotional and spiritual life. We can share our happiness, our sadness, or troubles, and our successes in life with our friend. I developed great friends when in college and we still keep in contact. Ed was my friend for 63 years. We started work together the same year and he just passed away. We shared our lives together and he helped me with solving fix it up things around the house as well as doing the carpentry, plumbing, and electrical jobs for me.
Or course my wife is my best friend for 66 years and has been wonderful to me. There is a special gift that God has given to us about friendship. We can be care givers to others and receive care from others.
Below are a few versus from the Bible on friendship
Proverbs 27:9 ESV "Oil and perfume make the heart glad, and the sweetness of a friend comes from his earnest counsel" Psalms 133:1 ESV "Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!" Romans 12:10-11 ESV "Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord." Philippians 2:4 ESV 'Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.'
Please share with others one of your gifts of friendship.
