The Knights was formed by Father Micheal J. McGinvey in 1882 in New Haven CT to render financial aid to members and their families.
The Knights of Columbus has grown to more than 14,000
councils and 1.8 million members throughout the world.
The Father Comyns Council was founded a number of years ago through the efforts of a group of dedicated men. It is named after Father Joseph J. Comyns, shown here on the right, who was the Pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish. The Father Comyns Council works closely with Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Ellicott City, MD, providing funds for various projects. Council members are active participants in the parish, and perform many community service activities..
