“God's Gift to Us: Medicines

God gave us the Sun for warmth, the streams for water, fish and animals for food, how about medicines to cure our medical problems?  God did provide medicines derived from the earth, plants and trees.

At least 175 plants in North America alone are currently available for medicinal purposes in the United States

  • Soil is commonly used in antibiotics. Microbes created in the soil are harmful to bacteria, which is why soil is used in medicine.

  • Digitalis derived from the plant foxgrove is one of the most famous medicines derived from a plant and is used to treat congestive heart failure

  • Ginseng: Stimulating immune system, increasing energy levels, lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels.

  • Echinacea: Helping to strengthen the immune system, treating sores, burns, wounds, bites and stings.

  • Bloodroot: reduce plaque and help prevent gingivitis, reduce the size of tumors.

  • Milk Thistle for liver treatment and to treat depression.

  • Sage effective for healing sore throats, gum infections and ulcers

  • Witch Hazel bark is used internally for treating diarrhea, colitis and dysentery.

  • Chamomile treats digestive system, bronchitis, cough or fever.

  • Aloe Vera is used to speed the healing of skin conditions, including burns and wounds. The sap is used as a digestive stimulant and a strong laxative.

  • Tea Tree an antiseptic used for stings, burns, wounds and many other skin conditions.
